What Are Your New Year's Resolutions, Quilters? | Bernina Sew n Quilt Studio

For many of us, 2018 has come and gone so quickly and it’s been nice to think back on the fun we’ve had and the fun we will have in 2019. There are a lot of things on our to-do lists for the new year, but we’d love to spend more time quilting - wouldn’t you? We’ve been very busy working on our Christmas projects and are delighted to share some of them with you soon, but we’re turning our attention to the New Year.

Reflect

Firstly, take a look back at your projects from 2018 and appreciate the hard work you put in and the beautiful pieces you created. If you gifted anyone a custom piece of your imagination and hard work, think about what it meant to them and how they will cherish it for years to come.

Assess

Secondly, make sure that your equipment is in top working condition. This is the best time to take assessment of when you last had your equipment serviced or repaired. Make sure that all of your fabric and thread is in fine condition, and jot down any additional items that you need in order to complete any ongoing projects.

Improve

Lastly, plan any improvement projects for 2019. If you have always wanted to learn a specific technique, look to see if there are any classes near you where you can finally learn how to do it. If you want to learn an entirely new-to-you skill like crocheting or knitting, see if there are any opportunities for you to broaden your horizons.
